Emission Trading

In 2018, the total CO2 emissions from Snam ETS plants certified by an accredited body according to the instructions given by the competent national authority, amounted to approximately 0.67 million tonnes, out of total annual allowances of approximately 0.20 million

assigned by the Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea (for a negative balance of 0.47 million in allowances). This deficit is partly offset by the shares already in the Snam plant registers, thanks to the accumulated surplus from previous years and the acquisition of around another 0.20 million tonnes from the European market.
