The production of energy from renewable sources

Snam installed photovoltaic plants on several of its real estate properties (territorial headquarters and maintenance centres) and also on some of the gas storage facilities.

In 2017 the total number of plants reached 1,367 units (+18.5% compared to 2016) and the installed power increased by 46 kW compared to 2016, passing from 940 kW to 986 kW (+5%).

This increase mainly regards the installation of more than 200 new back-up plants.

The total energy produced by the renewable-source plants increased by approximately 24% compared to 2016, passing from 844,600 kWh to 1,044,300 kWh in 2017. This increase is due both to new plants installed in 2017 and to the connection of equipment previously installed but not yet connected to the network.
