Emissions trading

In 2016, Snam’s ETS plants total CO₂ emissions, certified by an accredited body according to the provisions of the competent national authority, amounted to approximately 0.55 million tonnes, out of total annual allowances of approximately 0.207 million issued by the Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea (negative balance of 0.343 million allowances). This deficit is offset by the allowances already present in the national register of emissions for Snam Group plants, accumulated thanks to the surplus from previous years.
