Emissions trading
In 2017, the total CO2 emissions from the Snam ETS6 plants certified by an accredited body according to the instructions given by the competent national authority, amounted to approximately 0.64 million tonnes, out of total annual allowances of approximately 0.25 million assigned by the Ministry of the Environment, Land and Sea (for a negative balance of 0.39 million in allowances). This deficit is offset by the allowances already present in the national register for Snam plants, accumulated thanks to the surplus from previous years.
