Key performance indicators
Compared to 2019, the number of accidents involving employees increased slightly from 2 to 3, while those involving contractors more t han halved from 5 to 2, 1 of which, regrettably, resulted in death. Snam’s 2020 Scope 1 emissions amount to approximately 1.27 million tonnes of CO2eq, a reduction of -5% compared to 2019. The reduction in direct emissions is mainly attributable to initiatives to reduce natural gas emissions implemented in the reference period, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the decarbonisation strategies adopted by Snam over time.
